Counts & Recounts

The ability to accurately count the votes, and to conduct a full and accurate recount if necessary, is a hallmark of any genuine democracy. Who, or what, counts the ballots can affect which ballots are counted and which ones will be marked as “spoiled”. Every eligible voter should be able to cast their ballot and be guaranteed that their ballot will be counted correctly. Full and accurate recounts are necessary to determine the correct winner of closely contested races.
